The Role

Why this call matters more than it looks like

Every homeowner who calls in, fills out a form, or messages us on social media talks to you before they talk to anyone else at VPP Texas. That first conversation decides whether they trust us enough to let a field engineer into their home. It's a lot of responsibility for one phone call, and we pay like it.

This isn't a flat hourly customer service job where your paycheck looks the same whether you're great at it or just okay. We run a performance pay model, closer to what you'd see in high-ticket home services than a call center. The reps who take this seriously are clearing six figures. The floor is safe. The ceiling isn't capped.

About VPP Texas

What you'd be selling homeowners on

We put premium solar panels and battery backup systems into Texas homes at no cost to the homeowner, and lock in a fixed 12¢ per kWh utility rate. Simple pitch, real savings, and homeowners tend to say yes once they understand it. Your job is getting them to that yes and onto a field engineer's calendar.

What You'll Do

The day-to-day

You'll field inbound calls, form submissions, and social messages, then move qualified homeowners onto a field engineer's calendar.

Answer every channel

Inbound calls, website forms, and social media messages from homeowners already interested in the program.

Run GoHighLevel

Keep lead status, pipelines, and communication histories clean and current every single day.

Qualify homeowners

Make sure everyone booked meets baseline criteria for a home-readiness evaluation before it hits the calendar.

Book the review

Schedule and confirm utility bill audits between qualified homeowners and field engineers, virtual or in person.

Own your numbers

Track your own booking and conversion data daily. This is a job where you always know where you stand.

Protect the show rate

Compensation

Guaranteed base, uncapped upside

You're paid a reliable hourly base plus performance pay on top, so a slow week never costs you money and a great week has no ceiling.

Base

$12 an hour, guaranteed

Paid every period no matter what. This is your safety net, not your target.

Performance

$50 per completed review, plus 3% on installs

You earn $50 for every completed utility bill review call, plus a 3% revenue override any time a booked appointment converts into an installation. At a realistic pace, around 10 signed appointments a week that go on to install, that's roughly $1,500 a week in performance pay on top of your base.

Self-Sourced

3–5% override on your own leads

Bring in a lead entirely on your own, outside our standard marketing pipeline, and earn an extra override on that contract's value once it installs.

Two Honest Scenarios

What this actually pays, at two different paces

Installs start counting toward your bonus about 45 days after you start, giving you time to learn the CRM and build your calling rhythm. Here's what a realistic average pace looks like next to a strong one.

Average Pace
$64,000/yr
5 installs a week · $750/wk bonus + $12/hr base
High Performer Pace
$103,000/yr
10 installs a week · $1,500/wk bonus + $12/hr base
Bonus-eligible installs typically begin around day 45, once you're fully ramped.

FAQ

Questions candidates usually ask

Is the $12 base really guaranteed?+

Yes. It's paid every period regardless of performance. Performance pay is entirely additional, it never replaces or reduces your base.

How realistic is the $103,000 figure?+

It's based on a pace of about 10 booked appointments a week that go on to install, which is an achievable target once you're up to speed, not a best-case outlier.

What's a field engineer?+

The team member who goes into the homeowner's house to run the actual utility bill review and installation. You're the one who gets them onto that calendar.

Do I need CRM experience already?+

It helps, but it's not required. If you've used any CRM before and you're comfortable learning software quickly, you'll be fine in GoHighLevel.
